The individual will serve as a data analyst (75% of time) for an IES-funded study on pupil transportation and various evaluation studies on teacher training and professional development. The individual will also manage the overall study on pupil transportation, including engaging with faculty at other institutions on the project, planning meetings, and writing annual grant reports (25%).
Responsibilities include active involvement in all stages of analysis: data management, creating and merging large datasets, preparing variables for analysis, coding documentation, aiding in the preparation and distribution of training and research materials, quantitative data analysis using a range of analytic approaches, writing-up of results, and general research support tasks.
Successful candidates must have Stata, SAS or SPSS programming experience, with coursework and knowledge of statistics and analytics, as well as demonstrated experience managing research projects. Candidate should be proactive, have excellent attention to detail, be committed to collaboration and teamwork, and be able to multi-task effectively. Strong analytical skills, as well as strong writing and communication skills and a solid understanding of quantitative research methods are necessary. Research interest in education policy a plus.
