Research shows that kids who participate in sports do better academically, develop personal discipline and learn how to get along with others. All of our year-round sports and activities promote healthy living patterns and relationships with positive adults. In return, this prepares our students to become more likely to succeed in post-high school education pursuits.
Demonstrating the mission and vision of Breakthrough Urban Ministries, the Athletic Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and activities within the Breakthrough Sports and Fitness Academy (BSFA), which currently encompasses 65 sports teams/clubs competing in a variety of sports. S/he will manage current and planned community sports teams, house leagues, travel experiences and developmental programs for ages 5-19.
The Athletic Coordinator’s responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

Bachelor’s degree required in Sports Management or related field; graduate degree preferred. Minimum of three years’ management experience in a non-profit or related context required.
