The Catholic Schools Office of Worcester is seeking an experienced, energetic, and innovative leader who will serve as Principal of Saint Peter-Marian Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School.
The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) provides leadership, counsel, and administrative support to the Diocese of Worcester Catholic schools. Catholic schools in the Diocese of Worcester form an educational system, which proclaims the existence of God to the greater community. By providing space and time for the holy and sacred, our Catholic schools encourage their students to develop a relationship with God. Reporting to and appointed by the Associate Superintendent of Secondary Schools, the Principal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school and all its programs, and as such, is an integral member of the Associate Superintendent of Secondary School’s leadership team. In the absence of the Associate Superintendent of Secondary Schools, the Principal serves as the presiding executive officer of the school. The Principal ensures that each faculty/staff member maintains high academic and professional standards, bringing rigor, preparation, and excellence to the school community in support of the school’s mission; to encourage each student to become a responsible, respectful member of the human community in the Roman Catholic tradition as espoused by the shared values of Saint Peter-Marian’s founding orders, the Sisters of St. Joseph and Sisters of Mercy: faith formation, academic excellence, and commitment to service.
The Principal shall articulate a student-centered vision of success in academics and Christian character, using that vision to create a positive and faith-filled learning environment. The Principal will support all faculty members in developing competence in the curricula through modeling, observing, providing routine written and verbal feedback, and supporting teacher reflection. The Principal will identify and prioritize professional development needs through analysis of student data, teacher growth areas, and school needs. The Principal will support and model an open climate that attracts, retains, and motivates an exceptional, collaborative, and diverse school culture in providing a holistic experience of Catholic education.
Duties of the Principal:
This is a (12) month salaried position. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
