Position Summary
The Graduate Resident serves as an integral member of our vibrant, educational community. Working directly with students to teach, coach, engage, and inspire, Graduate Residents live on campus, make a difference in the lives of students and faculty while gaining invaluable experience and responsibilities in education, athletics, and leadership.
Advising, teaching, coaching, and personal skills preferred for success in this position at our school include:
- Experience working (and/or desire to work) at a residential school, college, or program camp, as a tutor or peer counselor, and/or as a teacher
- A passion for activities that our students enjoy, such as music, dance, sports, and outdoor exploration
- A commitment and passion for positively impacting high school students Essential functions of this position include:
- Living in a dorm and serving as a dorm parent
- Leading a Mentor (advisee) group of 5-8 students per semester
- Providing academic support to students
- Providing time management and goal-setting support directly to students
- Leading athletic teams and programs as a head coach, assistant, or supervisor (depending on experience and interest)
- Helping students plan and lead co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as part of the weekend activities, clubs, and events
- Assisting with student transportation, especially to and from routine doctor’s appointments
- Managing admissions work in one or more regions of the country, including giving presentations, recruiting students, and evaluating applications
- Sharing their own interests and passions in a way that enriches the school
