The Technologists in Production works with faculty to create a cinematic and immersive experience for online students. The primary responsibilities are to capture and edit multi-camera lecture recordings with opportunities to research emerging media and explore its impact on online learning.
This position is responsible for the design and implementation of new forms of web-based pedagogy and the creation of supporting video content. Reporting to the Liaison to the CTO and with the input of the Senior Technologist, this position will create content for online courses with opportunities to design new forms of multimedia learning, for example, video, 3D animations and 2D graphics. The Technologist in Production will research and implement video and other media technologies and troubleshoot any problems that arise. Primary responsibilities include video and audio recording, editing and other post-production for high-end classes and supporting course material. This position will also work closely with faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students, along with fellow technologists in DCE and across campus. The position will hold significant technical responsibilities and will be expected to work independently and deliver on goals by which the success of the department itself will be measured. Position requires superior organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, excellent performance under tight deadlines and the ability to work independently and collaborate on a team.
This is a 1-year term position with the possibility of extension after the first year.

- At least five years of related technical, multimedia work experience. A bachelor's degree in video production or related field may count towards experience.
- Experience with post-production workflows including Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of digital cinema cameras such as RED, Arri, Sony, and Canon, as well as their supporting hardware, audio, and lighting setups.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve, HDR color workflows and color grading.
- A passion for editing and post-production workflows.
- Strong cinematography and photography skills.
- Familiarity with field and studio audio recording techniques.
- Superior organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate on a team.
- Experience with RED and REDCODE and log workflows a plus.
- Experience with Bash, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Python, and/or SQL a plus. Comfort with Linux and a command line are a plus.
- Experience with teaching is a plus.
