Compliance related support role for the instructional payroll.
DCE seeks a highly motivated, well organized individual to join their payroll team.
This customer service/payroll processing position is instrumental to the success of the DCE payroll team. With significant outward facing responsibilities, this individual interacts with students, faculty, Teaching Assistants (TA), and staff regarding issuing non-paid appointments, and overseeing the out-of-state hires. S/he will be responsible for interacting with all new hires (Instructional Payroll) and with the payroll departments of FAS and Central Administration. This position also maintains and updates employee biographical information for Instructional Payroll staff in various University systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the I9 process for DCE by reaching out to all new hires to initiate the process for Temporary employees, including students, and to Less than Half-Time (LHT), students, staff, instructors, and Teaching Assistants. Track I9s to ensure they are filed before individuals begin their position. Communicate to Academic Affairs the status of I9s for Instructors and TAs
- Process Non-Paid (NPD) appointments for all Teaching Assistants (TA) and Instructors
- Run reports in Banner to identify new Instructors and TAs
- Data entry to update biographical information for DCE in third party systems
- Process payroll for out-of-state employees
- Pick up off cycle checks, informs recipients and distribute
- Process one-time payment requests for DCE
- Provide filing support for other members of the Payroll team
- Other duties as needed and requested

- Three plus (3+) years customer service experience
- Education beyond high school may count toward experience
- Intermediate level experience working with MS Office
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and new hire paperwork
- High level of organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be comfortable working as part of a team in a busy, rapidly changing environment.
- Experience with computer information systems, desktop applications, online processes, and data processing helpful
- Experience working in higher education and with confidential data, a plus
- Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft, and MIDAS, processing I9s and familiarity with Harvard, desirable
