Position Description
The Salesforce Platform Developer reports to the Director for Platform Integration and is responsible for development and maintenance of solutions on the SFDC platform. This role collaborates with IT managers, client stakeholders, consulting vendors and end users (in Enrollment Services, Marketing, Pre-Degree Advising and Admissions, Degree Offices, Finance and the Registrar's Office) to support, enhance, and expand Salesforce-based solutions. The SF Developer will work with Division of Continuing Education (DCE) managers to assure that the developed solutions continue to meet expectations and in terms of functionality and efficiency. The Salesforce Developer will also likely interact w/ other SF professionals within the greater University.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop: Responsible for design and development of end-to-end solutions with Apex (classes, triggers, and web services), Visualforce, Salesforce APIs, SOQL, SOSL, Outbound Messaging, Force.com platform as well as integration technologies (Web Services, xml, REST, SOAP). Understand business requirements / user stories and translate them into technical design & actionable software within the Salesforce environment.
- Integrate: Leveraging Salesforce APIs and Informatica workflows and APIs the Salesforce developer is responsible for the integration of these API's with other data, processes and platforms to assure that the systems within the CRM communicate efficiently and fully leverage available information.
- Unit Test & Deploy: Participate in daily scrums, work with PM, BA, QA and Infrastructure team on issues, timelines & priorities
- Bitbucket: Manage branches, deploy PR, debug pipeline error, resolve conflict and revert commits
- Collaborate: Partner with the peer developers, consulting vendors, quality engineers, product managers and subject matter experts to design and review end-to-end solution options
- Document: Ongoing throughout the development also forms a major role of the Salesforce Developer. This can be communicated with the Salesforce admin so that they are prepared for any customer interaction/support issues.
- Troubleshoot: Identify and remedy defects in existing solutions
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- BA/BS preferred
- Deep understanding of Salesforce platform architecture
- Standard and custom objects, Process builder, Flows
- Data management
- Apex Triggers, Classes and Controllers, Visualforce Pages, Lightning components, HTML5, JSON, JQUERY, JavaScript, SQL/SOQL, SOSL.
- Web services
- Familiar with SDLC lifecycle and use of change sets, workflow rules and approval processes.
- Unit testing / Code coverage
