Position Description
The Accounts Payable/Grant Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the department's research expenditures. S/he will oversee invoice payments; purchasing and corporate card transactions; vendor set-ups and employee reimbursements. The incumbent will work closely with research and administrative staff to confirm appropriate cost allocations and to monitor the availability of funds. S/he will also review and resolve invoice holds, follow up with researchers and vendors regarding payment issues, and monitor committed funds reports. Responsible for assisting Grant Managers with compliance and audit issues, budget submission, reporting, projections, and accurate financial analysis.
Basic Qualifications
- Expertise with MS Office Suite.
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative and one-year research administration experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- The successful candidate must be able to take initiative, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and move easily among varied work projects.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, this role requires seeing tasks to completion in a timely manner and is highly responsive.
Additional Information
This position is based in Boston and some in-person on-campus work will be required, and flexible/remote work is an option. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA).
