The COVID-19 Community Health Worker will ensure students have resources easily accessible around campus in the hopes of encouraging compliance with University COVID-19 and public health policies. This position is funded through the HEERF/MSI funding and will continue as needed for the through January 2022.
Responsibilities:
Care Communications: Initiate prompt communication with students diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19 to determine quarantine/isolations plans and setup support services as needed. Employ dynamic communications and interpersonal skill to build rapport and maintain trust with students of varied backgrounds. Follow a general script to garner information related to the status and the needs of the student.
Care Hall: Manage the temporary housing operations for students needing to isolate/quarantine on-campus. Â Facilitate the check-in/check-out process by assigning rooms, distributing keys, scheduling move-in, providing low-level concierge, and coordinating cleaning services.
Care Transport: Operate University-issued vehicles to support meal pickup and delivery; student transport; supply collections and distribution; and local off-campus support.
Care Reporting: Develop and manage electronic databases for Care Operations and specific needs for each student. Â Develop reports to track all aspects of the Care Operation including student attributes, supplies, meals, transport needs, etc. Issue daily updates and weekly tracking reports to Housing and Residence Life.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience in public health, health outreach, and education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to speak English and Spanish.
