Our fast-growing bilingual, international school is located in Hoboken, New Jersey, one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to 4th grade, with plans to add one grade next year.
We are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), are a NAIS model school, and are in the process of seeking accreditation for the elementary levels by the Spanish government.
From Nursery through Kindergarten, children learn 80% of the time in the target language (either Spanish, French, or Mandarin) and 20% of the time in English. Starting in grade 1, children learn 50% of the time in the target language and 50% in English.
Tessa International School is seeking an experienced School Van Driver for our School Van project. This position offers significant career growth potential.
In addition to that, candidates with no driving experience are also encouraged to apply and Tessa International School will provide the CDL driving training to those candidates who pass the interview and reference check.
This trained staff will in that case be a driver and an assistant teacher in one of our classrooms.
Driver Responsibilities:
A school van driver will maintain and promote a professional and defensive driving attitude at all times.
A school van driver will drive regular routes, activity trips, and substitute as assigned.
A school van driver will perform a daily pre-trip inspection, assuring that all equipment, including safety devices are in a safe and proper operating order.
A school van driver will keep daily records of mileage, number of student passengers and vehicle pre-trip inspections.
A school van driver will operate school transportation vehicles in compliance with all laws, rules and regulations set forth by district, state and federal agencies.
A school van driver will maintain proper student discipline per Board policy, as required to transport all passengers safely.
A school van driver will clean the interior and maintain equipment in a safe operating condition and to report all defects as soon as possible.
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
Assists with classroom and behavior management
Keeps the classroom and the school clean, tidy, and presentable at all times
Assists Lead Teacher in a range of tasks as needed
Assists with pastoral care
Leads outdoor play and any field trips
Participates in meetings and trainings as needed
May perform diaper changing, feeding and soothing of very young children depending on the class
Assists in other duties as assigned by leadership
