 Job Status:&#xa0; 
 A faculty member at New Hampton School works throughout the academic year, as well as when their job duties require them to work. A faculty member engages with students through academic, school life, and co-curricular programs.  Responsibilities Included (but are not limited to): 
 &#8226; Support the School&#8217;s mission, vision, and values.&#xa0; 
 &#8226; Attend orientation sessions, faculty and departmental meetings, service-learning days, professional development activities, weekend events, Project Week, and periodic community events, as well as all-school functions including, but not limited to, required meals, community meetings, and commencement ceremonies.

 To oversee the efficient and effective management of the division&#8217;s administrative functions, with a focus on assisting the division directors and communicating with parents. 
 To expedite communication and documentation between the school, families, and the DOE, in support of the CSE and OPT processes. 
 
 Essential Responsibilities and Duties&#xa0; 
 School Administrator 
 Faculty/Families: 
 
 Support the Lower School Directors in the daily operation of the division. 
 Demonstrate a positive and welcoming demeanor to the MMFS Community. 
 Support front desk coverage when needed. 
 Support arrival/dismissal duty. 
 Supervise the Lower School administrative staff. 
 Serve as the Lower School administrative liaison to other MMFS divisions/offices. 
 Arrange the ordering, delivery, and set-up of meals, refreshments, and snacks for regular faculty meetings and events. 
 Coordinate the selection, purchase, and distribution of faculty gifts on behalf of the division directors. 
 Coordinate and step in for lunch duty coverage for absent teachers. 
 Update and maintain the school information database. 
 Support families, students, faculty, and staff as needed for information, guidance, and assistance throughout the day. 
 
 Communication: 
 
 Communicate school information and updates to parents via database program. 
 Create and oversee the distribution of flyers, notices, forms, and other information to parents. 
 Manage and maintain the division&#8217;s calendar of events. 
 Manage and coordinate field trips, ie: permission slips, reservations, and payments. 
 Process student reports, ie: updating and proofreading formats, publishing reports, and tracking financial holds. 
 Coordinate and schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences. 
 Provide the Communications Office with weekly division updates for the weekly e-news. 
 
 Liaison to the DOE 
 CSE: 
 
 Provide support and guidance to parents regarding CSE-related issues. 
 Work with the CSE to create the IEP meeting and student observation schedules for all LS, MS, and US students. 
 Coordinate and provide the CSE with teacher availability schedules for all LS, MS, and US student reviews. 
 Inform CSE of scheduling conflicts based on the school calendar and events as they develop. 
 Provide student and school documentation to CSE as needed, i.e: student reports. 
 Send monthly attendance reports to lawyers. 
 Prepare documentation for subpoenas. 
 Provide student and school documentation to lawyers in preparation for impartial hearings. 
 Coordinate MMFS witnesses for impartial hearings. 
 Maintain detailed records on CSE Observations, CSE Reviews, and Impartial Hearings. 
 
 OPT: 
 
 Coordinate and process student transportation requests and assignments between families, CSE, OPT, bus companies, and the school. 
 Maintain records on and distribute OPT-issued student OMNY cards. 
 Maintain school schedule needs and student records within the OPT database. 
 Resolve transportation conflicts as they occur; communicate service needs with bus companies. 
 Support parent inquiries. 
 
 Other:&#xa0; 
 
 All employees are required to familiarize themselves with the employment policy manuals and meet the expectations outlined within each.&#xa0;

 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 
 This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative position. Days and hours of work are five days a week, four days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and one day a week, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a half-hour paid lunch. Evening and weekend work for special events is required as job duties demand, and will be scheduled in advance.

 Travel 
 On occasion, travel between campuses is necessary for meetings, which are scheduled with advance notice and are within walking distance of each other.&#xa0;

 Work Environment &#38; Physical Demands 
 This position requires the ability to maintain the physical capacity required to navigate the school environment and to ensure the safety of the students. The ability to open filing cabinets and bend or stand for long periods of time, as necessary. 								<description>Watertown, Connecticut,  The Associate Director of College Counseling works closely with the Director of College Counseling and the five-member college counseling team to support approximately 40 juniors and 40 seniors and their parents/guardians through the college selection, application, and admission process. This role includes writing letters of recommendation, consulting, and meeting with students regularly, advocating to colleges on students&#8217; behalf, hosting college representatives who visit campus, and contributing to the curriculum of college admissions-focused programming provided by the school. This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to work largely remotely over the summer (at the time of posting).  Taft often has Saturday morning programming, and as a part of this role, some Saturday coverage is required throughout the year. 
 In addition, the Associate Director of College Counseling will also coach/contribute to the afternoon co-curricular program, act as a faculty advisor to students, be involved in all aspects of school life, including evening and weekend duties, and undertake other responsibilities as needed. 
 &#xa0; 
 College Counseling Responsibilities include: 
 
 Support a cohort of approximately 40 juniors, approximately 40 seniors and postgraduates, and their families throughout the college admissions search process. 
 Act as a liaison to and resource for families. 
 Help lead programming and presentations, both in-person and online. 
 Participate in professional development. 
 Participate in special projects as assigned, helping to build college counseling curriculum for students and families. 
 Coordinate with other key constituents on campus, such as advisors and coaches, to support a student&#8217;s college process. 
 Write letters of recommendation for all assigned students. 
 Visit colleges; develop a broad network of colleagues in the profession.&#xa0; 
 Adopt a growth mindset when it comes to our field and our work. 
 
 Faculty duties include:&#xa0; 
 
 Serve on at least one standing committee that meets periodically throughout the semester. 
 Two seasons, or equivalent involvement, in Taft&#8217;s afternoon program (co-curricular) activities (approximately 24 weeks per academic year) unless otherwise stated in the job description for a specific position; 
 Responsible for the care and well-being of students in a residential boarding school. Provide a safe and secure experience for all students. 
 Presence in the office during the summer as needed.&#xa0; 
 Additional duties include serving as a student advisor, seated dinner once a week, dormitory or supervisory duty, occasional student transportation, and additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the head of school.&#xa0;&#xa0;
