 Job Summary 
 Westover School is seeking detail-oriented and dependable drivers to support student transportation needs. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from appointments, athletic events, and school-related activities within Middlebury and surrounding areas. 
 This is a flexible, part-time position with hours scheduled on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to student safety, professionalism, and reliability. 
 Responsibilities and Duties 
 
 Coordinate daily driving assignments with the Transportation Coordinator and adapt to schedule or route changes as needed 
 Conduct pre-trip safety inspections, including brakes, lights, horn, windshield wipers, emergency equipment, and overall vehicle condition 
 Safely operate school vehicles to ensure timely and secure transport of students 
 Refuel, clean, and return vehicles to designated parking areas; record mileage and complete post-trip inspections 
 Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or vehicle damage promptly 
 Follow established procedures in the event of an accident, including contacting emergency services and completing required reports 
 Maintain all required licenses and endorsements for assigned vehicles 
 Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and strong customer service when interacting with students, families, and colleagues 
 
 Required Qualifications &#38; Skills 
 
 Valid Connecticut driver&#8217;s license required 
 Public Passenger Endorsement (A or V) or willingness to obtain one 
 CDL with Passenger (P) Endorsement preferred for operation of larger vehicles, but not required 
 Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks and drug screenings 
 Familiarity with vehicle safety checks and routine maintenance 
 Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under varying conditions 
 Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed 
 Knowledge of local and state traffic laws and safety regulations 
 Commitment to confidentiality and student privacy 
 Ability to drive for extended periods (up to five hours or more) 
 
 Working Conditions 
 
 Work is performed in school vehicles and throughout the local and regional area 
 Schedule is flexible and based on transportation needs, including evenings and weekends 
 Regular interaction with students, faculty, and families 
 Driving may occur in varying weather and traffic conditions 
 
 Physical Requirements 
 
 Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time 
 Ability to assist with minor vehicle-related tasks as needed 
 Ability to lift up to 25 pounds 
 
 Compensation &#38; Benefits 
 This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is based on an hourly rate commensurate with experience.

								<description>Watertown, Connecticut,  The Associate Director of College Counseling works closely with the Director of College Counseling and the five-member college counseling team to support approximately 40 juniors and 40 seniors and their parents/guardians through the college selection, application, and admission process. This role includes writing letters of recommendation, consulting, and meeting with students regularly, advocating to colleges on students&#8217; behalf, hosting college representatives who visit campus, and contributing to the curriculum of college admissions-focused programming provided by the school. This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to work largely remotely over the summer (at the time of posting).  Taft often has Saturday morning programming, and as a part of this role, some Saturday coverage is required throughout the year. 
 In addition, the Associate Director of College Counseling will also coach/contribute to the afternoon co-curricular program, act as a faculty advisor to students, be involved in all aspects of school life, including evening and weekend duties, and undertake other responsibilities as needed. 
 &#xa0; 
 College Counseling Responsibilities include: 
 
 Support a cohort of approximately 40 juniors, approximately 40 seniors and postgraduates, and their families throughout the college admissions search process. 
 Act as a liaison to and resource for families. 
 Help lead programming and presentations, both in-person and online. 
 Participate in professional development. 
 Participate in special projects as assigned, helping to build college counseling curriculum for students and families. 
 Coordinate with other key constituents on campus, such as advisors and coaches, to support a student&#8217;s college process. 
 Write letters of recommendation for all assigned students. 
 Visit colleges; develop a broad network of colleagues in the profession.&#xa0; 
 Adopt a growth mindset when it comes to our field and our work. 
 
 Faculty duties include:&#xa0; 
 
 Serve on at least one standing committee that meets periodically throughout the semester. 
 Two seasons, or equivalent involvement, in Taft&#8217;s afternoon program (co-curricular) activities (approximately 24 weeks per academic year) unless otherwise stated in the job description for a specific position; 
 Responsible for the care and well-being of students in a residential boarding school. Provide a safe and secure experience for all students. 
 Presence in the office during the summer as needed.&#xa0; 
 Additional duties include serving as a student advisor, seated dinner once a week, dormitory or supervisory duty, occasional student transportation, and additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the head of school.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Qualifications: 
 
 Demonstrated commitment to the tenets described in the school&#8217;s  Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion  and  Portrait of the Graduate . 
 A Bachelor&#8217;s degree and at least three years of relevant experience. 
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
 Organizational skills and attention to detail. 
 Willingness to work evenings and weekends for special events and projects. 
 Availability to travel domestically and internationally for approximately two weeks a year.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Technology skills include the ability to learn and general proficiency with Axiom/Veracross, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, College Kickstart, SCOIR, and Internet browsers.&#xa0; 
 The ability to inspire and work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, employees, and other invested parties to support and expand programmatic and institutional goals; and interest in joining a residential community that serves a globally inclusive student body.

 Position Overview 
 Reporting to the Head of School, the Forman Director of Operations is a key contributor to the campus and daily operational oversight of the school from a short and long-term perspective. Forman seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial operational leader who will act as a close advisor to the Head of School and partner to the Buildings &#38; Grounds and Finance Committees of the Board of Trustees, proactive in their guidance, and progressive in their strategic leadership of the school&#8217;s physical plant and operations. Creative oversight and an appropriate sense of urgency in building Forman&#8217;s strategic oversight and compliance structure are essential in this role as Forman develops new opportunities for preserving the school&#8217;s asset base.&#xa0; 
 Key Responsibilities 
 &#xa0;Strategic Leadership 
 
 &#xa0;Proactively advise, consult and strategize with the Head of School on all aspects of school operations - including facilities, compliance, security, health, dining and technology.&#xa0; 
 Provide proactive and forward-facing leadership within all areas of campus facilities, creating and leading a strong, disciplined, well-formed, and achievement-oriented team. 
 Partner with the Head of School and Senior Leadership Team in envisioning and developing plans to ensure that approved strategic initiatives are appropriately funded. 
 Act as a liaison to the Board, co-lead the Buildings &#38; Grounds Committee; provide strategic leadership, advice and partnership to the Board and School leadership.&#xa0; 
 
 Risk Management 
 
 Oversee and supervise the Director of Security and security team, managing risk at the school to ensure the safety of all colleagues and students.&#xa0; 
 
 Incorporate safety and security policies and protocols. 
 Ensure that crisis planning documents and records are current. 
 Evaluate capital needs associated with access control, security camera equipment and software.&#xa0; 
 
 Oversee all risk management for the school, minimizing exposure to liability including oversight of Forman&#8217;s real and personal property: arrange appropriate insurance coverage for real and personal property, commercial general liability, automobile and workers compensation, and directors&#8217; and officers&#8217; liability.&#xa0; 
 
 Facilities Management &#38; Auxiliary Operations&#xa0; 
 
 Oversee and supervise facilities management for the school.&#xa0; 
 
 Oversee housekeeping and maintenance, directing a strategic team culture.&#xa0; 
 Identify and initiate enhancements to the school&#8217;s physical plant to maintain, preserve and ensure asset value. Continue to develop a long-term campus master planning process.&#xa0; 
 Represent the School in sending requests for proposals and securing contractual agreements for approved renovation and construction projects. 
 &#xa0;Represent the School to local municipal and regulatory agencies for the purposes of building positive relationships and securing land development and building approvals.&#xa0; 
 
 Oversee school transportation, including vehicle maintenance, fleet replacement, and contracts; and assess the performance of the transportation companies. 
 Ensure the effective management of the bookstore, student health center and the foodservice operations.&#xa0; 
 Oversee and work collaboratively with the Director of Information Technology. &#8226;&#xa0; 
 Develop and monitor the school&#8217;s contracts; act as a liaison to outside vendors and organizations including the rental of campus spaces by outside organizations.&#xa0; 
 Educational and Experiential Background and Credentials&#xa0; 
 
 A minimum of 10 years&#8217; total professional experience within an independent school, higher education institution, or other mission-driven non-profit organization is preferred with at least 3 years&#8217; experience in a senior management role.&#xa0; 
 Strong experience and expertise in financial planning and analysis with regard to campus planning in conjunction with the CFO/Controller. 
 Demonstrated leadership experience and oversight in facilities management and compliance.&#xa0; 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in business or related field; master&#8217;s degree preferred.&#xa0;</description>
